Why Old Galvanized Pipe Fails All at Once, Not Gradually
Galvanized pipe — that’s the older gray steel supply line a lot of Albuquerque homes still have, coated in zinc to keep it from rusting. That zinc coating wears off from the inside over the decades, and once it’s gone, the bare steel underneath starts rusting and scaling shut like a clogged artery. It doesn’t fail evenly.
