Central & Historic Albuquerque
These are some of the oldest parts of the city, and the plumbing often is too — original cast iron and clay lines, older gas venting, galvanized water pipe that’s usually due for an upgrade.

North of the River
North Valley’s mature trees and older infrastructure make root intrusion and aging sewer lines a recurring theme. Los Ranchos and Bernalillo carry some of that same older-property character, mixed with newer development closer to the highway corridor.

Heights & East Side
Northeast Heights and East Side lean newer construction overall, though pockets of older homes still turn up, especially closer to the university and the base. Uptown sits right in the middle — commercial density next to established residential streets.

The Westside is where most of the city’s newer construction is happening right now — different plumbing profile entirely from the older parts of town. South Valley mixes older, established properties with newer infill, so we check age and material rather than assuming either way.
